Introduction

The video opens with the frame of the man smoking in the windy desert. The color scheme (mood) brown and grayish colors to match the desert surroundings perfectly. The characters are stylized to look hard and edgy to symbolize the hard life they lead in windy conditions. It demonstrates the detailing of the animator in drafting his characters. He captures their day to day activities in a very funny way like:

  • The children flying like kites
  • The dog flying in the air
  • One player hitting the ‘ping pong’ ball while the other just watching by
  • The barber cutting hair

When the wind stops:

The team had personified the wind and the complexity lies in giving the look of the wind with the right mix of the sound effects. He had accomplished portraying the main character of the wind convincingly. The animator has handled the twist in the story effortlessly on what happens when the wind stops and communicates it believably well. The people get so much used to the wind that all things go wrong when the wind stops blowing, like:

  • The children falling to the ground
  • The dog falling
  • Knocking the opponent with the ping pong ball when the wind stops
  • The barber cutting the nose of the customer instead of the hair

The animator shows the ingenious ways, the people adapt themselves to the unusual windy situations. His attention to detailing captures our attention in places where the barman serves his customers in a very unique way, the ping pong players rallying against the wind, and the children flying in the air are some instances where the animator scores. The filmmaker’s visual style is impressive and engaging. Watch it to experience it!
